Hi.

Welcome to my blog. A small insight in things I have found useful and beautiful.  I hope you enjoy it!

Westaway and Westaway

Westaway and Westaway

Being able to dress your children in your childhood dresses and woollen jumpers is so nostalgic.  However if you don't have this luxury,  you might want to take a look at the Westaway and Westaway website.  They are one of the few remaining traditional companies, selling high quality Scottish knitwear and tartans. Ignoring the old fashion style of the site, direct yourself straight to their children's section, which holds a number of sweet woollen jumpers, quilts and mackies your children would look adorable in and are very reasonably priced.

Westaway opened its first showroom in 1937 in London, offering a large selection of high quality Scottish knitwear. Expanding during the 70's, they became famous worldwide for holding possibly the largest selection of Cashmere from the leading Scottish manufacturers  at the  most reasonable prices.

At its peak in the early to mid 80's, Westaway & Westaway occupied three shops in the Holborn area of London but unfortunately due to economic circumstances, Scottish manufacturers dwindled in numbers. Westaways started going to Spain to sell directly to their customers there, and visited the towns of Bilbao, San Sebastian, Oviedo and Madrid. Sadly the institution that it was once, is now only available online or by mail order, however the quality of their products has not changed and their ethos remains.

This company is a high quality, unprotentious, traditional gem.  Treat it well.
