Hi.

Welcome to my blog. A small insight in things I have found useful and beautiful.  I hope you enjoy it!

The Wooden Postcard Company

Receiving post remains one of the most exciting part of a day.  I believe that many of us still take the trouble of writing on postcards and letters rather than emails, just to receive news or thanks ourselves through paper format.  I have a pin board at home which hosts invitations, pictures and some of the funniest or prettiest postcards we have recently received. You can guarantee that most people coming round, will stop to have a little nose at it.

Keeping this in mind and my passion for all things stationery, I had to share The Wooden Postcard Company with you.  Launched by Nathalie and her husband from their home on the Suffolk Coast in 2012, they produce the most fantastic variety of fun wooden postcards.

The thought of a postcard that acted also as a keepsake, a little gift, a small etching, really appealed to them.  The engraving however was dull so they looked into printing wooden postcards in colour.

Their first examples were screen printed in two colours, red and blue.  But they soon developed their collection to what it is today: a large choice of cards, featuring places of interest, fine art and greetings, so that everyone can find something that makes them smile.

Favourites in their selection are the HMS DOG, who has become their mascot and has many admirers.  Nathalie says:  "He simply HAD to come with us when we did a market in Amsterdam recently. The Matt Sewell's Birds and Sarah Kelleher's cards get plenty of love too."

Coming soon are some beautiful Christmas cards as well as other goodies.  I will keep you updated on Instagram as they launch.

These wooden postcards can be found in a number of independent shops along high streets across the country as well as museum shops and on their website.  So think of treating someone once in a while.
