El Noque, Villa in Spain
Finding a decent place to go on holiday is no mean feat, particularly with children of varying ages. Therefore I thought I would share with you this beautiful villa, where my brother and sister-in-law holidayed last year and are holidaying again in September. They were so impressed by the beauty of the house, it's surroundings and the service provided, that I had to share it with you.
El Noque sleeps 12 very comfortably but I wouldn't recommend more than 10 adults to really make the most of everything on offer. Situated just outside Ronda in the mountainous region of Andalucia, Spain, the villa is surrounded by olive groves, donkeys and horses grazing in the neighbouring paddocks and row upon row of vines. On arrival, not a leaf is out of place, it is immaculate. The garden boasts a beautiful enclosed pool area set a short walk from the main house, down a herb and fruit tree lined walk, with kitchen and bar area, fantastic sound system, covered outside dining, hammocks for your afternoon siestas, sun lounge chairs and a lovely big, solar heated pool. There are a further 3 outside dining areas, each with a different aspect on the landscape and house, a sand pit for the kids, and expansive, manicured lawns to play games and run around.
The house itself is cool in the summer with ancient, thick walls, big windows (with fitted mosquito nets), an open plan ground floor and fans in every room, but equally, it is cosy in winter with an open fire, plenty of logs and underfloor heating. The kitchen comes with everything you can possibly think of, two dishwashers (essential when you have a big party to stay), 3 fridges and the knives are actually sharp, perfect for a keen chef. Alternatively there are a couple of local chefs that Renata, the house keeper, can arrange to cook for you as often as you want. The villa has 7 beautiful bedrooms and 6 bathrooms all with shower and bath.
Renata, is the icing on the cake. She can help with anything and everything.
The villa is just a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ronda with it's world famous bridge and ancient bullring. The best time to go is in early September to enjoy Ronda's feria with parades, parties and bull fights but if you would rather go at another time of the year, the villa is equally as lovely; the sea is only an hour's drive away, and the wine tasting tours are within walking distance among endless other activities available in the area. An absolute must is to book a tour around a bull and andalucian horse breeding farm called 'Reservatauro' owned by a well known Spanish matador. The excursion can be enjoyed by people of all ages, there's a little 'train' to drive you through the estate and you can try your hand at playing matador.
To make your holiday even more memorable, El Noque is able to offer the following additional services:
Food shopping (including prior to your arrival)
Cooking (extensive menus for every night or simply for one or two nights)
Thai yoga massage
And there are lots of useful bits of baby kit: travel cots, stair gates, high chairs etc. you just have to ask.
A perfect and beautiful base for a holiday with family and friends, so if you haven't booked your spring, summer or autumn holiday yet, look no further, you will have an amazing time.
