Hi.

Welcome to my blog. A small insight in things I have found useful and beautiful.  I hope you enjoy it!

Ekatot

Ekatot

For over 80 years, the Finnish government has been supplying every family expecting a child a Baby Box to ensure all have an equal start in life.

The äitiyspakkaus (Baby Box) is believed to have contributed to Finland’s low infant mortality rate because it is supplied with a new firm mattress, is light and portable so baby can always nap in the same room as you throughout the day and is wider than a moses basket, perfect for supervised tummy time.

Ekatot was created by Laura and Andy Moulds following the birth of their first child Frida.  Laura is Finnish and therefore received one of these invaluable boxes when Frida was born.  Overwhelmed by the positive feedback on the baby box, they decided to create one as close to the original as possible for the UK market.

Ideal for first time parents, the Ekatot baby box comes equipped with a mattress, bedding, indoor and outdoor clothing, toys and hygiene products. All items are gender neutral, high quality, ranging from newborn to 12 months sizes and are sourced in Finland and Scandinavia.

Ekatot offer two different boxes: the ISO and the PIKKU.  The Pikku box holds over 20 items, bedding and mattress for the first 6 months of the baby's life.  Sold at £149, you might think it is not cheap, however the Retail Price Value of all the items combined is over £250.

The ISO box is even better value. It includes 50 items, mattress and bedding for the first year of the baby's life.  The box is sold at £299 however the Retail value of these items is over £500.

So if you are becoming a grandparent for the first time, this is a great way of helping your child start their own family.
